Black Swan's Move into the State Theatre Centre of WA
Black Swan’s Move into the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia in 2010
A major milestone in Black Swan’s history is drawing closer, our move into the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia in Northbridge will occur in late 2010. We are looking forward to the move for a number of reasons:
- The new theatre will contain two state-of-the-art theatre auditoriums – one large theatre with a capacity of 575 seats, and a smaller, flexible studio space seating 200 people. Both theatres will be equipped with the latest stage technology and comfortable seating and will be easily accessible for wheelchair-bound patrons.
- The location of the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia at the intersection of Roe Street and William Street in Northbridge will provide us with a much more accessible and visible home. It will place us closer to the pulsating heart of Perth, which is exactly where we, as the State Theatre Company, want to be.
- The theatre will be just a stone’s throw away from Perth Railway Station and Wellington Street Bus Station, and is serviced by at least three carparks in easy walking distance. So it will be much easier for you to get to the theatre, whether you choose to take public transport or drive.
- The proximity to the entertainment precinct of Northbridge will also have another advantage for our patrons; the number of restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs in easy walking distance. It will be much easier for you to turn your theatre visit into a well-rounded night (or afternoon) out which can begin or end with a meal and drinks with your companions.
The State Theatre Centre of WA is located at the corner of Roe Street and William Street in Northbridge (find the blue star on the map above).
We will strive to keep you updated on progress in the lead-up to our first theatre production in the new venue. For the latest information about the new venue visit http://www.statetheatrecentre.dca.wa.gov.au/
