Regional Tour 2012
Anyone who thinks that regional WA is a cultural backwater will have to think again after 2012. This year, people in remote and regional WA will be able to enjoy a very special theatrical treat: they will get to see Tim Winton’s new play, Signs of Life, before it is performed in Perth or Sydney!
Signs of Life is the second play that Tim Winton has written for the stage. Picking up the story of Georgie Jutland and Lu Fox about ten years after the events featured in his bestselling novel, Dirt Music, the play is set in a lonely farmhouse on a riverbank in WA’s Mid West.
Directed by Kate Cherry and starring Tom E. Lewis, Helen Morse, George Shevtsov and Pauline Whyman, Signs of Life is a co-production with Sydney Theatre Company and will head to the Sydney Opera House for a run after the WA tour.
