Janet Holmes à Court AC, Founding Patron of Black Swan, gives annually to support Black Swan’s commissioning program and to promote educational activities, directly assisting Western Australia’s youth.
HOW TO BECOME PART OF ENCORE!
In preparation for the new season, we need your help to raise $100,000. By sending a gift, you will help Black Swan plan for its exciting future, contribute to the development of new works, support our educational program and help cater for the needs of regional communities in Western Australia. There are various levels of support that you can choose to become part of Encore!

By giving to Encore! you will play an integral role in the theatrical community in Western Australia, securing the future of theatre in your home state. To become part of Encore! please tick the ‘Encore!’ box when you subscribe for the 2010 season and nominate your level of support. You can become part of Encore! by using this form without subscribing to the 2010 season. You are also able to give as little as $10, $50 or $100, by ticking the ‘My Choice’ box on the subscription page.
Gifts under $500 are accepted by using the Encore! form and nominating your amount under "My Choice".

This season sees Black Swan introduce its Giving Program - Encore!, providing you the opportunity to become a vital part of the Black Swan experience whilst securing the future of Western Australia’s new State Theatre Company. Black Swan plays a crucial role in the social and cultural fabric of the fast growing city of Perth and Western Australia as a whole. By supporting Black Swan, you are contributing to a more creative and exciting society right here in WA, bringing the experience of theatre to life on stage, with no special effects or film editing
so prevalent in a digitally driven world. Your gift to Black Swan will go directly towards these areas of focus, currently requiring your attention and support:
Developing New Western Australian Works
Our state is fortunate to have talented artists, however often there is limited funding to get new works off the ground. Supporting the commissioning of new works provides a platform for our best playwrights to excel in their talent and develop new works from and about Western Australia, and helps Western Australia to stay relevant in the national context.
Education Program
Black Swan is committed to making theatre performances accessible to students and young adults and providing theatre workshops and classes that complement secondary school curriculum requirements. Black Swan welcomes many secondary students – studying drama, English and other relevant subjects – and requires your support to extend this program and nurture stronger student participation in the arts.
Regional Touring
Black Swan understands the important role theatre plays in rural and remote towns in WA. Visiting Black Swan productions provide access to quality arts and culture in regional towns and centres, enable social interactive experiences within the townships and attract visitors to the area. We are proud to tour throughout Western Australia and require your support to ensure all Western Australians are able to see a Black Swan show.
