Kathryn trained at WAAPA, ECU and Trinity College in London and has over 20 years experience teaching as a voice coach, privately and at WAAPA, ECU, Curtin and UWA. She has worked as an actor for Black Swan, Perth Theatre Company and deckchair theatre.
In term three of Theatre Thrills & Skills, Kathryn will cover the basics of the warm-up, resonance, articulation, projection, vocal modulation the patterns of the voice, the voice in the space - acoustics, the poetic voice - Shakespeare’s sonnets, the voice-over, the character voice, playing with accents, the speaking voice, exploring “BOB”, choosing and preparing a monologue to highlight your vocal character and to finish of the term, a monologue performance.
The course caters to the beginner through to the more practised individual, providing a venue to exercise and explore performance voice. Participants are asked to wear loose comfortable clothing.
Term Three 2010: Thursday 22 July – Thursday 23 September, 7-9pm.
