“Every audience member irrespective of their background, will likely see something of themselves, their fathers, their families and their world in this masterpiece.”
The Hollywood Reporter
Willy Loman spent his entire life as a travelling salesman chasing his fortune and never succeeding.
Now, suffocated by debt, discarded by his boss and losing his grasp on reality, his hopes continue to rest on his son Biff, the golden boy who never lived up to the promise he showed in high school.
In an unforgiving present, Willy grasps at the straws of a past he idealises and refuses to let go of false dreams for his son, despite the fact that Biff, who once worshipped his father, has come to reject him.
Death of a Salesman is one of the great American plays of the twentieth century, dissecting the country’s obsession with the American Dream and creating one of the most memorable portrayals of a father-son relationship in contemporary theatre.
Awards for the play include the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award - Best Play, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Tony Award for Best Play and Tony Award, Author – Arthur Miller.
"Here is writing so good it grabs you by the throat and won’t let you go. A masterful modern tragedy, Death of a Salesman is one of the most powerful experiences you will have in the theatre. This production is led by one of Australia’s greatest actors, John Stanton, who has conquered so many legendary contemporary and classical roles." Kate Cherry

"The magnificent acting had you genuinely feeling for each family member in turn. Truly one of America’s greatest plays presented with flair." Theatre Australia
"...the strength of the acting, the brilliance of script, the seamless direction in and out of the past is masterful. This is a powerful piece of drama and not to be missed." ABC online
"If the job of an actor is to move his audience, then John Stanton and his fellows have gone above and beyond in Death of a Salesman - two days later and their production is still giving me chills." Perth Walkabout
"The production has excellent moments, as in the compelling face-off between Josh McConville, excellent as the troubled oldest son Biff, and John Stanton, as Willy. Caroline McKenzie shines in her portrayal of Willy's wife, Linda." The Australian
